History

Situated in the heart of the Normandy at the ports of Deauville the privately-owned estate includes nearly 40 hectares of land and fields and 38 boxes. With a long history, CHEVOTEL has always been a place for quality breeding and racing.

The structure of the CHEVOTEL is more than 80 years old, and the manor and stud buildings are under monumental protection. In the 60s and the 70s the King of Spain’s horses were trained here. Up until 1995, the property belonged to the Lombard family, serving up until then as a stud and family seat.

From 1995 on, the Rapp Family was co-owner of CHEVOTEL and from 2002 onward the Rapp family took single ownership of the CHEVOTEL estate.
Since then, the property, grounds and infrastructure have been upgraded continuously. Major investments took place in ground expansions, box additions, building upgrades and many more.

The main Manor of the property was restored with attention to detail and the original Normandy charm was kept with a modern touch. The annex buildings with its typical Norman style server the staff as accommodation. At this time Apartments at the manor of CHEVOTEL are long term rented.

Since 1995 many black-type horses and Group winners have come out of the CHEVOTEL breeding and racing structure. Also, CHEVOTEL presents continuously yearlings and broodmares at the different ARQANA sales in Deauville.
